⚖️ Simple Present vs Present Progressive

Bu konunun temel ayrımı budur.

Kuruluşu	I/you/we/they do — he/she/it does	am / is / are + fiil-ing
Zaman sözleri	every day, usually, on Sundays, always	now, right now, at the moment, Look!, Listen!
Örnek	My mother cooks dinner every evening.	My mother is cooking dinner now.

İki cümleyi yan yana koyalım:

My father waters the plants every morning.   (alışkanlık)
Look! My father is watering the plants.      (şu an)

-ing yazım kuralları:

cook  → cooking   (düz ekleme)
make  → making    (sondaki e düşer)
shop  → shopping  (son harf ikilenir)
tidy  → tidying   (y düşmez)

Olumsuz ve soru:

Present Progressive	She isn't cooking.	Is she cooking?

❓ Question tags — Devam eden eylemler

Devam eden bir eylemi doğrulamak için question tag kullanılır.

Kural: olumlu cümle → olumsuz tag, olumsuz cümle → olumlu tag.

He isn't doing the dishes,	is he?
You are watering the plants,	aren't you?
Your mother does the laundry on Sundays,	doesn't she?
They don't go shopping on Mondays,	do they?

Dikkat edilecek nokta: tag'de kullanılan yardımcı fiil, cümledeki zamanla aynı olmalıdır.

She is cooking, isn't she?      (Progressive → is/isn't)
She cooks, doesn't she?          (Simple Present → does/doesn't)

Sık yapılan yanlış, iki zamanı karıştırmaktır: She is cooking, doesn't she? yanlıştır.

Özne zamire çevrilir:

a) Hangi zaman? Boşlukları doldurunuz: 1. Look! My sister ….. (wash) the dishes. 2. My father ….. (take) out the rubbish every evening.
b) Soru ekini ekleyiniz: They are tidying their room, ….. ?

a) Zamanı seçelim

1. “Look!” sözü şu anı gösterir → Present Progressive.
→ Look! My sister is washing the dishes.

2. “every evening” sözü alışkanlık bildirir → Simple Present. Özne “my father” tekil üçüncü kişi → fiile -s eklenir.
→ My father takes out the rubbish every evening.

Püf noktası: Zamanı cümledeki zaman sözcüğü belirler.

b) Soru eki

Cümle olumlu ve yardımcı fiil are → tag olumsuz ve aynı yardımcı fiille kurulur. Özne “they”.
→ They are tidying their room, aren't they?

Yanlış olurdu: don't they? — çünkü cümlede Progressive var, Simple Present yok.

⚠️ Sık yapılan hatalar

“Look! She washes the dishes.” yanlıştır. “Look!” şu anı gösterir: She is washing the dishes.
“My father takes out the rubbish now.” yanlıştır. “now” şu anı gösterir: is taking out.
“She is cooking, doesn't she?” yanlıştır. Tag cümledeki zamanla aynı olmalıdır: isn't she?

💡 Aklında kalsın: Alışkanlıklar Simple Present (My mother cooks every evening), şu an olanlar Present Progressive (She is cooking now) ile anlatılır; zamanı cümledeki zaman sözcüğü belirler. Question tag'de yardımcı fiil cümledeki zamanla aynı olur: is → isn't she, does → doesn't she.
